Editor’s Note: Ken Brengle, a veteran chamber of commerce professional from Colorado who more recently headed the resort association at Big Bear Lake, was hired last summer to serve as CEO for the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce after an exhaustive search to replace Barbara Glennie, who headed the organization for 23 years. This email announcing his sudden departure was sent to chamber members yesterday. We will elaborate on this when more information becomes available.
Dear Chamber Membership:
Hope you all had a chance to experience the networking and excitement of last week’s Business Expo at the Marriott just last Thursday. It was a great time of networking and promoting business in the area.
As Chairman of the Board there are a few things I need to share on behalf of the entire Board of Directors.
Mr. Ken Brengle is no longer serving as the President/CEO of the Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce. The Executive Board has already begun the process of searching for a new CEO and confident we will recruit a candidate in the near future.
Meanwhile we remain absolutely committed to our core work: creating a strong economy, providing networking opportunities, supporting the interests of business before government, taking political action and supporting this great community.
The Chamber has a full slate of events in November and all activities and programs will continue as usual with the assistance our great team of employees and volunteer leadership. Myself and Chairman Elect, Mark Waronek will work along side staff to provide oversight and be a resource to them during the transition period.
Thanks for being a part of this dynamic business organization and member of this community.
Highest regards,
Dan Keeton
Chairman of the Board
Torrance Area Chamber of Commerce
